A Media Center should be dedicated to designing and maintaining a library media program that supports, complements, and expands the instructional program of a school. It should function as the information center of the school, by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats from all curriculum content areas. My program is based on the belief that reading, technology, and research are fundamental to successful life-long learning. Students and staff alike learn to independently access, evaluate, and use information by extending the classroom curriculum through an educational partnership between teachers and the Media Center. I strive to keep students motivated, engaged and inspired while guiding them to question, develop ideas, think critically and reflect on their own lives, in order to also help them to become more socially aware.
